I am a writer and German translator based in Iowa City (and Berlin, ab und zu).
I received MFAs in Poetry and Literary Translation from the University of Iowa, where I am the 2024 CLAS Visiting Writer in Translation.
Before that, I got my SB in Philosophy at MIT.
My current projects are focused on the language and psychology of games. Right now, I'm working on a collection of short prose about competition and an experimental English translation of Paul Rudolf von Bilguer's 1843 Handbuch des Schachspiels (Chess Handbook).
I am also interested in contemporary German poetry and multilingual poetics.
